The short version: if you join the mailing list, we keep your email address to send you Epilogue news. We only count visitors if you say yes. No ads, and we never sell your details.

Who we are

epilogue.band is run by Epilogue, a band from Kildare, Ireland. We decide how the information on this page is used, which makes us the “data controller”. For any question or request about your information, email info@epilogue.band.

The website is designed, built and maintained for us by TheGaf Group, which acts on our behalf and only on our instructions.

The mailing list

What we keep
Your email address, the date and time you signed up, and which form you used (for example, the coming-soon page).
Why
To email you news about Epilogue’s music and shows. Nothing else.
Legal basis
Your consent, which you give by signing up (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.
How long
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. When you do, your address is removed from the list straight away.
Who sees it
Only the band. We never sell, rent or share your address. If we use a service to send our emails, it handles your address only on our behalf.

To leave the list, use the unsubscribe page or email info@epilogue.band.

Keeping the site secure

To stop people guessing passwords or flooding the mailing list, the site notes the time of each attempt alongside a scrambled form of your IP address. It’s scrambled one way (hashed with a secret key), so it can’t be turned back into your IP address, and it’s deleted after 24 hours. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site and the list secure (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Visitor statistics (only if you agree)

The first time you visit, the site asks “Count us in?”. If you press Count me in, the site loads an analytics service to count visits and see which pages are popular, which devices people use and roughly where they’re visiting from. If you press No thanks, or don’t answer, it’s never loaded.

What it gets
Your IP address, your browser and device, the pages you view, how you arrived and a random ID kept in a cookie.
What we see
Totals and trends only. We can’t identify you, and advertising features are switched off, so nothing is used for ads.
Legal basis
Your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy Regulations 2011). You can change your mind at any time.
How long
Statistics are kept for no longer than 14 months. The cookies last up to two years unless you clear them or change your answer to No thanks.
Where
The data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Where it is, it’s protected by safeguards approved under EU law.

To change your choice, use . Switching to No thanks deletes the analytics cookies from your browser.

Cookies

The site uses no advertising cookies. It uses analytics cookies only if you accept them (see above). Your answer to that question is remembered in your browser for six months so we don’t keep asking. Other than that, the only cookies are:

Both are strictly necessary for those features and hold no personal details.

Running the site

To run the website, keep it secure and provide its features, TheGaf Group and Epilogue may use third-party services where applicable or required, such as web hosting. They act on our behalf, and only use your information as needed to provide their service. Like any website, the servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser and the pages requested) to keep things running and secure.

Video and links

The video on the site is played by a third-party video service. Nothing is loaded from it until you press play. When you do, that service receives your IP address and may set cookies under its own privacy policy. Links to streaming, social media and ticket sites take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

Email info@epilogue.band and we’ll reply within one month. You can withdraw consent to the mailing list at any time, without affecting anything we did before. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top will change too. If a change affects how we use your email address, we’ll tell the mailing list.
